Q: In a few months, I will no longer have to file DWI SR22 insurance. How can I get it off of my record?

A: In most cases, the fact that you had a DUI and had to file DWI SR22 insurance will remain on your record for at least five years, and in some cases even ten. Your car insurance company will only look at it for five years, though. If you’re almost done filing, then three of those five years have probably already passed, which means that you should focus on diminishing the effect of your DUI and trying to improve your driving record.

In some cases, you may be able to get an offense taken off of your record if you take a defensive driving course, although you will have to talk to a judge to find out if this is possible in your case.

Other than that, you just need to stay out of trouble. Go ahead and take a defensive driving course anyway, add safety features to your car, always drive within the speed limit, and try to avoid getting tickets. Do everything you can to make yourself look more responsible, both in driving and in general, to your DWI SR22 insurance company.
